What are three things you’re most excited about at Crest Apartments?

  1. Day One/Opening Day! I’m very eager to get started and excited about the possibilities for our property. I’ve learned a ton about the day in day out operations here in the corporate office, but I’m ready to get my feet wet and hands dirty, so to speak.

2. Leading, teaching, and guiding the concierge staff. I see it as an excellent opportunity for them and me.

3. Lastly, and most importantly, interacting with residents and prospects, and hopefully, profoundly enriching their Crest experiences.

What type of experience can residents expect when living at Crest?

My focus will be to ensure every interaction a resident or prospect has with the concierge team is exceptionally professional and friendly. I want to see to it that requests are responded to quickly and thoroughly. We will strive each day to emit an authentic vibe of luxury and to make sure residents and prospects know they are our top priority. 

What amenity do you think residents will enjoy the most?

The pool, and especially the grills by the pool in the courtyard.  Grilling(and eating) is my favorite thing to do in the summer. I am a self-proclaimed Grill Master.

What is your favorite floor-plan at Crest?

Multiple floorplans make up these units unbelievable, but my favorite units are the ones that have a patio that opens up to the Courtyard Pool. 

What retail option are you most looking forward to in the Skyland Town Center?

& Pizza! I’ll go over and help them finish the building if they need me to. Bring it on.

What is your favorite Crest amenity so far?

What is your favorite Crest apartment feature?

Honestly, the Washer/Dryers in each apartment unit are my favorite feature. Nothing flashy. You feel the difference without this feature.

Crest at Skyland Town Center Apartments has officially begun leasing! After months of anticipation, the time has finally come for future residents to lock down their apartment homes formally. The Crest is highlighted by breath-taking apartment features, including spacious closets, kitchen islands, stainless steel appliances, and balconies in select floor plans. 

Outside the four walls of your apartment, residents will have access to super convenient building amenities that are perfect for many lifestyles. Some building features include a resident lounge area, a resident courtyard area with grilling stations, a pool, and pet areas, including a wash station and dog park. 

As you prepare to officially start the process of moving into your ideal apartment home, here are some frequently asked questions that will keep you abreast of everything that you need to know ahead of the pre-leasing application process. 

Are there affordable units at Crest?

Yes. Crest at Skyland Town Center has apartments set aside for residents making 80% and 120% of the area median income. We are proud to participate in this city-wide program to increase the supply of affordable housing in the District of Columbia. What are the income requirements for an affordable unit?

The minimum and maximum incomes for the apartments are outlined in the chart below.  Please note the numbers represent *total household income*.

What size are apartments affordable apartments? 

We have studios, one, and two-bedroom apartments available.

Do you accept vouchers?

We accept vouchers, subsidies, and all rental assistance forms provided by the District of Columbia or the Federal Government.

What utilities am I responsible for?

At Crest at Skyland Town Center, our residents are responsible for electricity.  You are responsible for setting up an account and will be required to provide the account number before your move-in. If you would like cable and internet, you are also responsible for setting up those accounts.

Is there an application fee?

Yes, there is a $50 application fee per applicant 18 years of age or older at Crest at Skyland Town Center.  The fee covers the cost of background screenings.

Background screenings include a credit check, criminal background, and eviction records.

What information do I need to apply for an apartment?
  • Photo Id (government-issued)
  • Proof of income (3 most recent paystubs, offer letter, latest W-2 or 1099)
Can I apply for my new apartment online?

Yes! To begin your application online, simply go to CrestDC.com and click on Floor Plans. Find your perfect fit, and then click the apply now button. Follow the instructions on the screen to register and start your application.

What is the cost of my security deposit?

The standard security deposits at Crest at Skyland Town Center are:

  • $500 up to one month’s rent
Is there parking available at Crest at Skyland Town Center?

Yes, Crest at Skyland Town center has assigned parking available for $135 a month. 

Inquire about current availability when you schedule your tour. 

Does Crest at Skyland Town Center offer package receiving?

Yes, our 24-hour concierge will gladly accept packages on your behalf.  You will be notified via the resident app that you have a package and it will remain secured at the front desk for you to retrieve upon returning home.

Does Crest allow pets?

The crest is pet-friendly! Up to two pets are allowed per apartment. You will pay an upfront, non-refundable fee of $500 for each pet. We do not charge any pet rent. There are weight limits and some breed restrictions.  The maximum weight allowed is 70 pounds.  Restricted breeds include the following:

Akita, American Bulldog, Anatolian Shepherd, Australian Cattledog, Beauceron, Belgian Shepherd, Bernese Mountain Dog, Black Russian Terrier, Cane Corso, Catahoula Leopard Dog, Chinese Shar-Pei, Chow-Chow, Doberman Pinscher, Dogue de Bordeaux, German Shepherd, Great Dane, Great Pyrenees, Husky, Jindo Dog, Kuvasz, Malamute, Mastiff, Pit Bull, Presa Canario, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Rottweiler, St. Bernard, Tosa Inu, Wolf, Wolf-Dog Hybrid.

How do I schedule a tour?

Crest at Skyland Town Center will open for in-person tours in April.  We will offer tours seven days a week.  Give the office a call at 833-799-1459  to schedule your tour today!

When can I move in?

We are now accepting all new residents! Please review the availability date of the apartment floor plan you’re interested in and we will be happy to help you from there!

Do I need to have renters’ insurance?

Every resident is required to show proof of their renters’ insurance policy before indicating at least $100,000 in personal liability coverage. 

Is Crest smoke-free?

Yes, Crest at Skyland Town Center is a smoke-free community. That means smoking is not allowed anywhere on community grounds, including courtyards and balconies or within 20 feet of the building doors.

This month’s meet the team interview is with Crest Assistant Property Manager, Natasha Smith. 

Natasha answered some questions about what she’s most looking forward to about the features at Crest and what future residents could expect from their living experience.  

What are three things you’re excited about at Crest Apartments?

I’m most looking forward to the grand opening! I know that all of our new residents will enjoy all of the exciting apartment and building features. I’m also excited about celebrating our residents with thoughtful and interactive resident events. Lastly, I’m looking forward to matching future residents with the perfect apartment floor-plan for them!

What type of experience can residents expect when living at Crest?

A strong sense of community where our residents’ happiness is truly our goal. Residents will be greeted with warm smiles, even if we are wearing masks, timely responses to inquires or needs, and open communication.

What amenity do you think residents will enjoy the most?

This one is a little tough to answer because I feel like we’ve got amenities to match everyone’s desires depending on personal preferences, but I’ll say the dog park. It is located within the community, and as a pet lover myself, I understand the level of convenience and peace of mind this amenity provides. Especially for late-night walks and early mornings! You’re only steps away from your front door.

What is your favorite floor-plan at Crest so far?

I’m guilty of walking into an apartment and declaring a favorite and then walking into a different one and saying, “oooh, this one is it!”. We have so many great options, but for the sake of making a decision, I’ll say C6 Floorplan. I LOVE the connected kitchen island and the amount of natural light throughout the apartment home.

What retail option are you most exciting about at Skyland Town Center?

So many options! It’s hard to decide. I want to wait until everything is complete before making my decision.

What is your favorite Crest amenity so far?

The Fitness Center! #WorkOutQueen

What is your favorite Crest apartment feature?

 I love that some apartments feature charging stations. It’s the level of detail for me!

Meet the Team: Kalimah Gordon

A big part of what will make Crest at Skyland Town Center Apartments feel like home for our residents is the passion for community that all of our team members possess. Each Crest staff individual is willing to go above and beyond to help create a valuable experience for everyone that walks into the front doors. From a resident perspective, having an entire team of experienced multi-family enthusiasts dedicated to making sure their apartment life is being lived in the best way possible is something residents will surely appreciate.

In anticipation of Crest Apartments’ arrival, we sat down with Property Manager, Kalimah Gordon to talk about some of the things she is most looking forward to about opening our brand new community in the Hillcrest neighborhood.

Kalimah touched on some of her favorite building features, neighborhood features, apartment features, the Crest resident experience, and more!

What are three things you’re excited about at Crest Apartments?

There are a lot of things I’m looking forward to at Crest. Building wise, I’m really excited about welcoming all of our new residents. It will be thrilling to see the type of personalities residents will bring to the building!  I’m also looking forward to seeing residents interact with our community events. At Crest, we’re big on engagement. So seeing our community grow and bond through events is something that will make my heart smile. 

Retail wise, I’m excited to see all of the new merchants joining the community. I know this will be an enormous benefit for our residents as well as the surrounding neighborhood. 

What type of experience can residents expect when living at Crest?

The resident experience at Crest is all about offering the ideal combination of comfort and convenience. Our goal is to make each resident feel as if their apartment home was made specifically for them.  

What amenity do you think residents will enjoy the most?

The fitness center for sure! Residents will enjoy having access to the top-notch fitness equipment.

What is your favorite floor-plan at Crest so far?

That’s tough! Every floor-plan has subtle features that make all of them good. But if I had to choose, I would say 1 Bedroom – C6. The kitchen in this apartment is unbelievable! I’m a sucker for a fantastic chef’s kitchen. 

What retail option are you most exciting about at Skyland Town Center?

Starbucks! I will be going there very frequently!

What is your favorite Crest amenity so far?

My favorite amenity is our team! We all love our roles, and we’re eager to create a welcoming and engaging environment for our new residents. 

What is your favorite Crest apartment feature?

The side by side washing machines are large, and the closet they’re in provides more storage space. I love that!
