Meet Crest at Skyland Town Center’s Leasing Manager, Armonie Bartlett. Armonie heads up our Leasing team and is dedicated to helping you find your perfect apartment home. We wanted to share a little bit about Armonie, so we asked her about her favorite things about The Crest and DC as a whole!

When you unwind at the end of the day, where do you go?

To the comfort of my living room—there’s no place like home!

What’s a local organization in DC doing good for the community that readers should know about?

THEARC is really nice! My son attends the camp there during the summers. They also have tons of events and resources that are super beneficial to children in this community.

What’s your favorite restaurant in the neighborhood and what do you order?

I usually bring my lunch every day because I love to cook however, I ran to &pizza when they finally opened here at the Town Center. I usually order traditional dough, spicy and classic sauce, shredded mozzarella, spinach, pepperoni, with hot honey and basil pesto finishes.

How did you end up in DC?

I was born and raised in Washington, DC. Growing up my family relocated to Texas and Aberdeen due to my father being in the military. DC has always felt like home to me.

What are you Netflix-binging on right now?

The new season of Stranger Things!

If you were to work from home, which Crest space would you choose?

Definitely the conference room.

How do you think life at the Crest allows residents to thrive?

I think life at the Crest gives residents a taste of city views and convenience of DC. With the addition of the LIDL grocery store and having the first drive thru Starbucks in DC, there is so much just footsteps away for everyone to enjoy.

What made you want to come work at The Crest?

I wanted to come work at The Crest because I love being a part of something new, it is exciting to be at a new development. There is a lot that this area offers and it will be great to see how things evolve.

Just outside your front door, Skyland Town Center is open for business! You can check out DC’s only drive-thru Starbucks, Roaming Rooster restaurant and their delicious custard milkshakes. You also have conveniences like CVS and Chase Bank. We’ve recently added Skyland Nails and Spa and & Pizza to our repertoire, and are looking forward to the upcoming opening of Lidl.

But, when choosing an apartment home, we know the most important factor is if the floorplan will work for you and your lifestyle. Featured below is one of our favorite two-bedroom floor plans: the 2-B.

Crest Two Bedroom 2-B Apartment

Whether you’re looking for a floor plan that offers an equitable layout for roommates, the perfect second bedroom for a guest bedroom/home office set up, or you’re just a fan of symmetry, the 2-B floor plan leaves little to be desired.

Not only does this layout have pleasing proportionality with respect to space, it also features some great extras. Two prime examples are the side-by-side full-size washer/dryer and laundry closet with a folding table and expansive windows offering abundant natural light in the main living area.

Both bedrooms can easily accommodate a queen size bed which makes furnishing a breeze. Convenience at The Crest is one of its greatest hallmarks. There’s something to be said about being able to have access to a variety of different services just steps from your front door. With some exciting retailers having recently opened, we wanted to provide a guide to both the newly joined as well as those who will be joining us soon!

CVS

This nationally known chain was one of our first open retail spaces at Skyland Town Center. We’re excited to have one conveniently located for your convenience and pharmacy needs!

Chase Bank

In a predominately digital financial world, we all know the frustration of needing a convenient ATM. With Chase Bank just downstairs, you can say “goodbye” to this frustration! If you’re looking to make a change with your banking, it also doesn’t hurt to have a Nationally accessible bank in your building.

Roaming Rooster

Craving a delicious chicken sandwich? Roaming Rooster has you covered for those days where you just don’t feel like cooking. We recommend The Buffalo (extra hot, if you’re brave!). Beyond sandwiches, this fast casual option also offers chicken tenders and wings if you’re looking to mix it up.

Skyland Nail Salon and Spa

Looking to spice up your nail game? One of our newest retail spaces, Skyland Nail Salon and Spa has you covered! Pamper yourself the way you deserve with a relaxing Spa Pedicure or make a fashion statement with some of their exciting nail art. With a wide variety of services as well as very reasonable prices, we think you’ll love your experience!

Starbucks

Whether you’re working from home or commuting, this Starbucks location will cover your coffee needs. Not only does this brand-new location have plenty of seating (indoor and outdoor!), it’s one of the rare locations in DC that feature a drive through meaning you can grab your latte on your way to work without ever leaving your vehicle!

&Pizza

Last, but certainly not least, we’re thrilled to announce the recent opening of this brand-new &Pizza location! If you’re looking for a quick lunch or an easy dinner, we highly recommend that you try one of their handcrafted personal pizzas. Try one of their artisanal concepts or create your own with an endless variety of free toppings!

Lidl

We are thrilled to welcome this incredible grocery store this Fall just steps from The Crest. This German-based super market concept offers an incredible array of fresh produce and other quality grocery items at unbeatable prices. They also offer lots of international products as well at equally great prices. Sizing in at nearly 30,000 square feet, you’ll never want to grocery shop anywhere else.

Retailers Coming to Crest at Skyland

Crest at Skyland Town-center will be the home of several popular retailers over the next couple of years. We can’t wait for future Crest residents, and Skyland DC locals to indulge in a brand new shopping experience!

Take a look below at some of the first retailers that are going to be coming to Crest at Skyland Town-Center.

Starbucks:

DC’s first-ever drive-through Starbucks is coming to Skyland Town Center. This will provide Crest residents with easy access to their favorite caffeinated drinks. Enjoy a nice refreshing cup of coffee just steps away from your front door! No matter, if it’s a warm summer day, or a chilly winter afternoon, having a Starbucks within walking distance, will add pure deliciousness to an already incredible living experience.

Lidl Grocery:

Along with the first-ever drive-through Starbucks, Skyland Town-Center is going to be the home of another DC first. Lidl grocery store is also set to be the first major grocery chain to come to southeast DC. This resourceful grocery chain is a huge convenience for future Crest residents as they will be able to conveniently shop from an array of fresh grocery items.

According to DC Urban Turf, “Lidl is a 46-year-old German grocery brand known for its sustainable sourcing and its private-label goods, making it somewhat comparable to a Trader Joe’s or Aldi’s. Already well-established and -known in Europe, the company opened its first store in the United States in 2017.”

CVS:

CVS is the latest service retailer to be announced as being a part of the shopping options at Skyland Town Center. This health company will serve as an excellent resource for picking up medical prescriptions and essential household needs.
